A nice purchase height (Distance above the mouthpiece to the top of upper ring) provides good poll pressure, twisted bars for more pressure on the bars of the mouth, doggone and roller apply pressure to the tongue. Some horses enjoy the movement of the roller with their tongue to occupy them. The ball hinge prevents pinching of the lips. 5 inch mouthpiece with 7.5 shanks and the curvature of the shank softens the pressure of the hands.
